2. Material to be used for plastic seal:
2.1. POLYCARBONATE MATERIAL.The material used for polycarbonate plastic seals shall conform to the following specification.

The raw material shall be of the following makes.
- M/s. Dow Caliber Ltd. Switzerland (Grade 201-15)
- M/s. G.E. Plastic, Singapore (Lexan Grade 143R),
- M/s. Bayer Ltd. (Makrolon 2407)
Raw material of any other manufacture (Indigenous/Foreign) having similar material properties shall also be used with prior approval of BOARD’S.
Material of polycarbonate plastic shall be procured from authorized dealers and stockiest only. Vendor shall be required to furnish proof of procurement of the raw material so procured from
Authorized dealers and stockiest.
A copy of relevant manufacturers test certificate related to the manufactured batch shall be furnished to BOARD’S engineer during inspection.

2.2. STAINLESS STEEL FOR SEAL WIRE.:Stainless steel wire to be used for seal wire shall be SS 316 as per AISI standards. Relevant test certificates shall be furnished to BOARD’S engineer during inspection. In the absence of any relevant test certificates being submitted, samples shall be drawn and got tested at a third party laboratory for confirmation of required chemical and physical properties. The cost of such tests shall be borne by the vendor.
3. Colour of seal : The seals shall be white, transparent (see through) type, and shall give complete view of its fixing mechanism.
4. Design and Construction of POLYCARBONATE seal.
4.1.Design :The seal shall be anchor type, tamper evident with double locking system. The male and female part shall be connected with inbuilt stainless steel seal wire. BOARD’S monogram and specified identification mark issued by BOARD’S shall be embossed on either side of the seal.
The female part of the seal shall be provided with a pin hole of the size 0.9 mm (+/-0.02), in the center for inserting seal wire.
4.2. Size of the seal :
4.2.1.a
The over all size of seal (female part) shall be 20mmx20mmx8 mm with a tolerance of (+5%) for variation in dimension.

[21 x 21 x 8.4] +5% tolerance; [19 x 19 x 7.6] - 5% tolerance
4.2.1.b
The wall thickness of the seal (female part) shall be 0.80 mm with a tolerance of (+5%) for variation in dimension. There shall be no negative tolerance.0.80 normal; 0.84 @+5% tolerance.
